Where is Lake Worth Beach?
Lake Worth Beach sits on the Lake Worth Lagoon in Palm Beach County, between West Palm Beach to the north and Lantana and Boynton Beach to the south. The city changed its name from Lake Worth to Lake Worth Beach in 2019, and locals often call it "L-Dub."
Getting there
Palm Beach International Airport (PBI) is about 15 minutes away. Fort Lauderdale (FLL) is about 45 minutes south. Tri-Rail commuter trains stop at the Lake Worth Beach station near Lake Avenue and I-95. By car, take I-95 exit 63 (6th Ave S) or 64 (10th Ave N) east to US-1.
Getting around
Downtown is very walkable. Lake and Lucerne Avenues are one-way streets downtown. The beach is about a mile east of downtown over the Lake Avenue bridge — an easy bike ride. Rideshare is widely available.
Weather by season
Winter (December–March) is dry and mild, with highs in the 70s °F — peak season. Spring is warm and sunny. Summer (June–September) is hot, humid and stormy in the afternoons, and hurricane season runs June 1 to November 30. Fall brings fewer crowds and the start of the event season.
Insider tips
Arrive at the beach early on weekends for parking, check the city events calendar before you go, and leave room for spontaneous live music downtown.
